POSITION: APPLICATIONS ENGINEER     POST DATE: 10/16/2009            TOP

Applications Engineering is the cornerstone of our sales initiatives. Utilize your considerable technical background in developing technically sound, cost competitive, and responsive quotations by assessing and evaluating our client specifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze Request for Quotes (RFQ) and create concept for customer requirements. Formulize initial concept matching equipment to customer specifications.
  • Detail and calculate best package configuration, individual machine configuration, and production rate to satisfy client needs.
  • Determine accurate projected costs based on historical data and manufacturing methodology.
  • Utilizing costing software, prepare quotations establishing appropriate pricing.
  • Prepare layout drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Interface with Sales, Clients, and Engineering to ensure customer specifications are understood and a solutions driven product is quoted.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering highly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the packaging equipment or automation manufacturing industry in an engineering capacity (design and/or quoting).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Word, Excel and Outlook.

SKILLS
  • Sales Engineering and Technical Writing experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.

This position is for the experienced Project (Design) Engineer, looking for an opportunity to work on a diverse and comprehensive product line. We offer the opportunity to challenge your mechanical design skills as part of a talented, hands on engineering team. Apply your extensive knowledge and experience of automated equipment design as you take ownership of projects from concept to product launch including design, vendor communication, tooling design, product testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and project management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and development of automated packaging equipment from concept to completion.
  • Creation of design layouts, machine drawings, mechanical assemblies and piece parts utilizing AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Performance of engineering calculations to validate design decisions.
  • Project management including responsibility for budget and on-time fulfillment.
  • Participation in concept meetings and design reviews to optimize design effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Interface with Sales, Customers, and Distributors to ensure expectations are understood and a solutions driven product is designed and manufactured.
  • Perform sustaining engineering activities including technical support to Service, Applications, Sales, and Manufacturing, cost-reduction efforts, design enhancements, performance improvements, and increased profitability.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years experience designing automated equipment preferably in the packaging equipment industry.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor, and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

SKILLS
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Installation, service, repair, and maintenance of ARPAC equipment and systems in the field.
  • Troubleshoot, identify root causes, and solve operational issues surrounding ARPAC machinery at customer locations.
  • Train personnel on proper setup, operation, maintenance, and repair of ARPAC machines.
  • Perform extensive mechanical and electrical modifications including PLC program modifications.
  • Travel extensively both domestically and internationally – 90% travel.
  • Build strong customer relationships to help achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS
  • AAS in Electronics, Industrial Technology, Electrical Technology, or Mechanical Technology highly desired.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in machinery maintenance.
  • Strong Electrical background (some formal training required).
  • Strong PLC background with programming experience in Allen Bradley’s.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components and their interaction.

SKILLS
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Demonstrated Customer Service skills.
