The Arpac Group is committed to an ongoing approach to improving sustainability,
focusing on:
Utilization of Sustainable Packaging Materials
- Our customization expertise allows Arpac to quickly utilize new materials with our machines.
- Arpac closely monitors new advances in packaging materials and has consistently been an early adopter of new packaging material technology.
- We can package with PLA films and we stay close to advances in biodegradable films.
- Our ability to integrate other equipment (glue systems) into our machinery again allows us to utilize new advances in “green” packaging technology.
Energy Efficient Machinery
- We reduced compressed air consumption of our Brandpac machines by eliminating air operated vortex cabinet coolers in favor of high efficiency air conditioners. Total energy saved was 20%.
- Arpac has replaced many drive systems with servo based systems, reducing energy load while increasing machine output.
- Heat tunnels have been redesigned to become more efficient in shrinking film with less heat through better air flow characteristics. Energy savings amounted to 15-20%.
- Hot plate heat tunnels have provided a superior bottom seal while allowing the heat tunnels to run at lower temperatures – reducing energy consumption by 15%.
Highly Reliable Machinery
- Our engineering focused company is highly skilled at machine customization, allowing Arpac to be known as an early adopter of new packaging material improvements.
- Our machine designs are simple – allowing for quick and accurate changeovers resulting in next to zero line re-start waste.
- Key seal bar wear parts can be easily disassembled and repaired, eliminating need to discard unworn sear bar components.
- Very rugged machinery, with our commitment to continuous improvement, assures our customers of high machine uptime with few errors leading to waste.
- Advanced machine control systems support optional remote monitoring to aid in fast recovery if issues occur.
Sustainable Production Methods
- The Arpac Manufacturing Method (AM2) is built upon a lean management backbone, utilizing proven and repeatable management tools such as cellular production, kanbans, value stream mapping, kaizen events and 5S to drive the sustainable production objectives.
- Arpac has implemented a vertically integrated factory designed to reduce build times, reduce incoming transportation costs and reduce risk of supplier related issues.
- Our state-of-the-art production tooling (laser cutting, self learning lathes, CAD driven CNC machines) reduce scrap and accomplish tasks with less energy compared to 1990’s style production machinery
- We carefully manage and recycle our scrap metal and office paper products.
- Arpac’s new powder coated paint system eliminates VOC based painting methods while reducing painting cycle time.
- Our newly installed robotic welding methods are 90% faster, reducing total energy usage and eliminating waste due to welding errors.
Superior Support and Training Capabilities
- Arpac University provides a learning center for our customers and distributors to teach sustainable packaging and machine operation methods.
- Our demo room provides a extensive lab for evaluation of new packaging concepts and the teaching of sustainable packaging methods.
- Arpac supports a highly competent technical service force and a fast turn parts manufacturing capability to aid our customers in maximizing their machine uptime.
- Preventive maintenance
programs are available to maximize
machine uptime.
The ARPAC GROUP
remains committed to sustainability
objectives, for the good of our
customer, our ongoing business
and for the environment. This is nothing new to ARPAC as we have long been an industry leader in reducing packaging weight and costs utilizing the breadth of packaging solutions involving shrink bundling, horizontal shrink, corrugated and stretch wrap machinery. We
will always be at the forefront
